The Power of Light Colour Light Therapy
By Julianne Bien — colour science consultant
Our modern style is different from that of our ancient predecessors in one unique way — we live our lives inside. We spend most of our time in closed quarters, be it in our offices, stores, factories, theaters or homes. We place our children into classrooms for the most part of their days, since their early years. We travel in closed vehicles, often with shaded glass to block the sunlight, or commute and shop entirely under ground. We have become concerned over the ozone hole in our atmosphere and its potential harmful consequences, so we readily vacate sunny beaches and often replace them with timed sessions in man-made light-emitting pods.
Ever since the early humans discovered they could make fire at will, the importance of the sunlight was made relative. Nowadays, we routinely substitute daylight with various types of illumination of our own making — candle light, gas light, light from incandescent bulbs or fluorescent tubes. Our lives hence offer minimal exposure to sunlight. When we do venture outside, we continue to shield ourselves from the sole source of life in universe — sunlight — by wearing sunglasses, hats and long sleeves, by applying sunscreens and staying in the shade as much as possible. We consciously choose to live an unnatural life in artificial surroundings. Only a hundred years ago most people spent 75% of their time outside, today the reverse applies. Yet, we were not made for such an existence.
Full spectrum light, at the proper intensity, is essential to the production of Vitamin D in our skin and the metabolism of calcium; the amount of calcium in the system regulates not only our bones, but also our nerves and the thinking process. Nevertheless, we do not readily associate ailments and disorders with our confined lifestyle. Only recently have we identified one – seasonal affective disorder (SAD) – and only in a certain percentage of the population (statistics show that 10 to 25% of North Americans occasionally exhibit symptoms of SAD). Meanwhile, we are faces with myriad conditions, afflictions and diseases for which the Western allopathic medicine offers no compelling explanation or treatment. Chronic anemia, unexplained organ failures, the surge of cancers regardless of age and gender, mental illnesses, depression in all of its modalities and forms — all these signals are diagnosed, recorded and addresses solely as independent events in the lives of individuals (or as statistical data), not as symptoms of a single, planetary condition. Medical doctors always look at ill people to establish what is wrong with them; they do not study the healthy population to understand and define the essence of health.
Naturally, our bodies do not use incandescent or fluorescent devices; to survive, they require the color energy carried by light, which they emit for internal and external communication. Light, when shone through a prism, splits and reveals itself through seven specific colour categories ranging from red, having the longest wavelength, to violet, being the shortest — this is our visible colour spectrum. It is a perfect mirror image of our rainbow. Have you ever wondered why we get so excited, feel like a child again and marvel so much at a rainbow after a spring shower? Perhaps, it is a reflection of our own true inner beauty, our inner source of light. Whether we admit it or not, at a spiritual level, we all feel our inner child within and will chase rainbows until we find our pot of gold outside ourselves, which, of course, doesn’t exist. Perhaps we need to discover our rainbow located within each and every one of us at a soul/heart level. When we find that ‘pot of gold’ within, we will not need to search anymore. You’ll know, it is an all-encompassing, complete ‘inner’ knowing. Colour can assist you in achieving the unimaginable.. .but for now, let’s focus on how colour therapy can assist in the physical healing.
Each of the various hues, shades or tints of colour emit specific energy frequencies. The theory that stands behind colour light healing (colour therapy) is to capture specific colour rays or beams of these various wavelengths of light and reintroduce them into the physical body for cellular communication to re-structure, re-position, re-energize, re-nourish, re-organize, re-produce, re-balance, re-harmonize, re-adjust and re-align the body as a complete, multi-dimensional matrix for optimal health in a 2000 — 2001 century existence.
Lumalight
In this type of colour therapy, the health professional focuses coloured beams of light onto specific locations on the client’s body — locations that correspond to the traditional acupuncture points on the skin or other established grid systems based on kabalistic concepts, astrology and numerology. This technique was perfected in Europe and around the world through extensive research in the last five decades of the twentieth century and is based on case studies performed by early pioneers who used colour in healing. The therapist employs the material properties of colours (their respective frequencies) to achieve potential therapeutic effects at the physical, emotional and spiritual level. The therapist can be either a trained medical professional or a trained colour therapy enthusiast and sessions can be performed almost anywhere, including clinics, hospitals or in the comfort of person’s own home.
How do we achieve optimum effects of colour light?
Each colour beam, generated by a simple, non-invasive hand held colour-ray illuminator, such as LumaLight2000, introduces a specific frequency (based on a specific protocol), through the tonation of colour light onto the skin. The light beam does not necessarily need to touch the skin. The information encoded in the colour frequency than begins its journey along the body’s meridian channels (etheric energy highways) and is absorbed into the system by the entire organism. Colour light replenishes the body’s natural energy supply on all levels, specifically with those frequencies (i.e. colours, which went “missing” through various pathological causes).
The targeted colour light ray gives a spark that moves the blocked energy and thus can relieve any pain the person feels, but it isn’t simply “nudging” the stagnant energy; it is also changing (transmuting) the character of the energy it encounters. Located throughout the body, from head to toe, are highly efficient etheric memory storage facilities
that can be programmed for eternity. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that emotional traumas, physical injuries and psychological scars remain with us for decades; although the entire cell count in the area has long ago been replaced by new cells. These ‘memory computer chips’ are localized knots of “scrambled” energy code, encrypted as a result of sudden trauma or shock that we may or may not know still exist somewhere in our mind-body-soul matrix. Therefore, it stands to reason, forgotten past memories and skeletons stashed away quietly in tightly sealed cl6sets eventually begin to rattle as physical symptoms, mental clutter, depression and confusion.
Pure colour frequencies shone onto the body’s countless energy portals “reprogram” and “unscramble” this harmful mind/body set patterns. Thus they not only can eliminate physical and emotional pain almost instantly, but also prevent it from recurring, while revitalizing the body.
Each individual illness or disease has a unique frequency of its own and manifests itself differently in each person, depending upon their constitution and life’s ‘energetic” experiences.
Psychological and therapeutic effects of colours:
Red is the symbol of love and anger and of life itself; with its penetration power, which is the highest of all colours; it is recommended for treatment of impeded circulation, muscles and heart. It generates enthusiasm, arouses passion and has a cheering effect.
Orange symbolizes joy and happiness and helps raise the spirit; hence it is recommended for cases involving depression and fear. It promotes a healthy appetite and increases the sex drive. It is used for hormonal cleansing and in menstrual difficulties. It’s a bright, warm source of encouragement for all aspects of life.
Yellow is a clear purifying colour, which stimulates clarity of intellect, as well as toxin processing and elimination. It can help with learning disabilities and with strengthening of the endocrine functions.
Green is a cooling, sedating colour, which helps reduce swelling of joints and tissues; it calms the body and helps reduce inflammation. It’s the colour of the relaxed heart.
Turquoise is the colour for mental relaxation and tackling embedded psychological barriers. It acts as a tonifier and can help regulate imbalances in the lung-large intestine system. It is a colour that facilitates spiritual growth.
Blue is a cool colour that has a claming effect, inside as well as on the outside. It is very helpful in treating sleep disorders and headaches, yet also regulates elastic tissues in the organism. It helps in all kinds of cramps and can have an anti-bacterial effect.
Violet promotes awareness and consciousness. It increases effects of meditation. It promotes proper functioning of the lymphatic system and is a very helpful in times of menopause. It is the colour for neutralizing emotional wounds and for spiritual growth.
Colour light therapy can be used on its own or as an enhancement to all forms of therapy. It is ideal for professional iridologist, reflexologist, massage therapist and many others. It is a safe, non-invasive technique that allows a person to self-direct the process when necessary. The greatest feature of this method of healing is the fact that it enables the recipients to look at their lives and discover the trauma or conflict that caused a physical disturbance in their bodies. Once they clear that mind pattern, the physical symptoms may disappear. People can benefit from light and colour therapy daily, from relaxation to rejuvenation, to relief of acute pain, to the treatment of chronic ailments, to emotional and spiritual makeovers. In the 2lth century, a colour ray illuminator will be a standard companion in all homes and health care facilities.
