A TRIBUTE TO DR. BERNARD JENSEN
A Remarkable Man! A Remarkable Life!
By Grace Sedstrem C.C.Ir
Dr. Jorgen Bernard Jensen was born in Stockton, California on March 25, 1908.
Dr. Bernard Jensen
At age 21, he began his career upon graduating from West Coast Chiropractic College. He had no idea of becoming a doctor until his interest in natural health became so intense that he devoted the rest of his life to its full time study, practice and teaching. The international impact he and his work have had on millions of lives since that time is something few can aspire to accomplish in a lifetime.
Iridologists may recognize him best for his significant influence on the advancement and awareness of the science of iridology, but Dr. Jensen was versed in a wide variety of holistic health care disciplines including: nutrition, bowel care, hydrotherapy, fasting, reflexology, polarity, glandular balancing, sanitarium work, homeopathy, herbology, diets, acupuncture, craniopathy and personology with a total of over 6,000 hours of graduate work during his career. He received awards, honorariums, and degrees and was even knighted.
Dr. Jensen did not seek fame, recognition or glory — his sole purpose was to help relieve human suffering by first learning and then teaching “right” living. His love of wisdom and knowledge, especially that which pertained to the realities of health and wellness, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, revealed his philosophical nature. He was indeed a man of great compassion and insight. He passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2001, just one month before his 93rd birthday. The purpose of these few remarks is to pay tribute to Dr. Jensen and to remember the man, his life and the spirit of his work. He was committed, genuine and full of deep conviction. May those of us who have chosen to take the path of pursuing the study and practice of iridology be challenged by his example and aim to carry the flame to our generation!
Grace Sedstrem C. C.Ir. is a Registered Iridologist with the Iridologist's Association of Canada, who practices in the Greater Toronto Area.
