LanguageBar ActiveX Control

Summary: LanguageBar ActiveX control displays active input language for the current process. It allows switching between input languages registered on a computer. It can also freeze selected input language preventing it from being accidentally changed. Through this control, other input controls on a form can be locked to using specific input languages.

This is what the control designed for:

Displays currently selected input language for a process.
Switches between available input languages.
Locks selected input language preventing it from being accidentally changed.
Allows linking input controls to specified languages.

A form on the picture below has two EditBox controls for entering French and English descriptions for a product.

The French is automatically selected when the left EditBox receives focus. Similarly the English is selected for its counterpart.

An input language can be changed by either double clicking, or through selection in control's context menu.

The Language Bar control reflects change in input language even if the hosting form does not have the keyboard focus. For example, when a language is switched through the Windows Taskbar.

Language names can be displayed as 2 or 3 char IDs, or in [Language (Country)] format.

Through LanguageBar control's InputLanguageChange event, current input language can be displayed in Microsoft StatusBar control (MSComCtlLib.SBarCtrl), or in any other control on a form.
